Social Security Donates Medical Equipment
A brief ceremony to formally hand over medical equipment to the Joseph N. France General Hospital was held on Thursday 26th June 2008 in the waiting room of the X-Ray Department of the hospital. A state of the art X-Ray machine valued at approximately EC$196,000.00 was symbolically presented to Health Minister Hon. Rupert Herbert by the Minister with responsibility for Social Security Hon. Terrence Sam Condor.
The Dell Medical Model APX 525 X-Ray Unit is yet another significant piece of equipment contributed by Social Security under its committed program of annual contributions towards the delivery of quality health care in St. Kitts and Nevis. Every year for the past twenty-four years, this program has injected vital funds into the health sector of the Federation. The present annual commitment is EC$270,000.00 distributed equitably between St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Director of Social Security Mrs. Sephlin Lawrence, and Ministers Condor and Herbert all made remarks articulating a fitting perspective in keeping with Social Security’s overarching role in the community, and its assumption of its civic responsibilities in contributing to nation building. The Chief Radiographer Mr. Joel Patrick expressed thanks on behalf of the principal hands-on users and also provided the gathering with an insightful technical overview of the equipment.

· A representative group of other nursing and other staff of the Hospital
The ceremony was blessed by Social Security’s Benefits Customer Service Representative Mr. Walwyn Chiverton and was chaired by the Manager of the Public Relations Department of Social Security Mr. Chesil Hamilton.
